Penn State got a commitment Sunday night from point guard Rasir Bolton.

Rasir Bolton commits to Penn State basketball: Lions get 2nd 2018 pledge

Penn State basketball landed its second 2018 commit on Sunday night when Virginia Beach (Va.) point guard Rasir Bolton announced.

Penn State’s first commit is small forward Myles Dread, who committed last July. Both are 3-star recruits on the 247Sports composite, which ranks Bolton as the No. 33 point guard in the Class of 2018, and the top recruit in Virginia.

Penn State coach Pat Chambers has greatly improved the Nittany Lions’ recruiting presence in the Philadelphia area, but so far his 2018 class has been a reach a little further down South. Bolton attends Huntington Prep in Virginia Beach, not too far from Dread’s Gonzaga Prep in D.C.

If the 6-foot-2, 170-pound Bolton signs his National Letter of Intent with Penn State, he would be the second Virginia player on the team’s roster, joining junior guard Josh Reaves of Fairfax. Bolton also had offers from Clemson, VCU, Virginia Tech and St Joseph’s, among other schools.
