Penn State is expected to bring a large chunk of its fan base to Heinz Field on Saturday for the Nittany Lions’ first game against Pitt in 16 years.
But maybe Penn State won’t have as many fans in the seats as they think?
Pitt athletic director Scott Barnes tweeted Friday that Penn State returned some of its allotted tickets.
Visiting team returned tickets for tomorrow. Will be making them available for Panther Nation. Stay tuned. #H2P

Penn State responded on Friday afternoon, saying it was 50 tickets designated for special groups.
From Penn State: "We returned approximately 50 tickets, which were designated for special groups and standard holds for away games."

Barnes has said a few times leading up to the game that he expects a majority of the crowd to be Panthers fans. We’ll find out just how split the stands are in the Pennsylvania rivalry in less than 24 hours.
