Penn State’s quest to win a sixth NCAA wrestling championship in seven seasons just got tougher.
The team announced Wednesday that freshman 125-pounder Nick Suriano will miss the NCAA Championships, which begin Thursday in St. Louis. Suriano, seeded third in the tournament, injured his ankle at the end of the dual-meet season and also missed the Big Ten Championships.
We would like to announce at this time that FR 125-pounder Nick Suriano will not be able to compete in this year's NCAA Championships.

In his first collegiate season, Suriano went 16-3 with 2 pins — though two of those losses came via injury default after suffering the ankle injury — against then-No. 1 Oklahoma State at the dual championships on Feb. 19. With Suriano out, Penn State finished second in the Big Ten Tournament to Ohio State.
