Saquon Barkley has been known to run around flailing his arms in, uh, this specific manner after scoring touchdowns.
I don’t know if you’d say “wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man,” or “land swimmer,” to describe what Penn State’s star running back is doing, but it’s definitely a thing he does. Here he is after catching a touchdown against Michigan earlier this season.
When Washington’s Myles Gaskin scored to cut Penn State’s lead to 28-14 in the Fiesta Bowl on Saturday, he did a slightly modified version of Barkley’s celebration.
Again, still not totally sure what that celebration is, but Gaskin’s looks too similar to Barkley’s to just be a coincidence.
Barkley had plenty to celebrate early in the Fiesta Bowl. His 92-yard touchdown was a Fiesta Bowl record, and it’ll serve as a fantastic memory should he declare for the NFL draft, as is widely expected.
