Penn State will be without two key players for the upcoming Rose Bowl.
On Wednesday, the Nittany Lions announced the suspension of WR Saeed Blacknall and LB Manny Bowen. The two won’t play against USC.
The two players were suspended for a violation of team rules.

- Blacknall: 15 catches for 347 yards, 3 TDs
- Bowen: 68 total tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, 2 sacks
The news follows James Franklin‘s Tuesday announcement that “some guys” won’t play in the Rose Bowl. Now the players are known.
The Nittany Lions will play USC in the Rose Bowl at 5 p.m. ET on Monday, Jan. 2. The game will be on ESPN.
Blacknall had a big game in Penn State’s Big Ten Championship Game win vs. Wisconsin. The receiver had 6 catches for 155 yards and two TDs, including a 70-yard score as the Nittany Lions rallied.

Bowen’s played in 13 games this season, starting 12. He’s tied with Malik Golden in tackles, behind only Marcus Allen, Brandon Bell and Jason Cabinda.
