New Jersey RB Jon Lovett committed to Rutgers all the way back on June 27. But after watching in-person as Penn State knocked off No. 2 Ohio State, he was offered by the Nittany Lions to flip his commitment, which was first reported by 247sports.
WR Saaed Blacknall in 2014, RB Saquon Barkley in 2015 and K Alex Barbir in 2016 were all Rutgers commits that flipped to Penn State, though SB Nation reports that there’s no imminent indication that Lovett will do the same. SB Nation also notes that Lovett could switch to being a safety.
Lovett has also received offers from Maryland, Syracuse and Boston College, among others.
