The Penn State-Pitt series is finally back this season. It has a name, too: Keystone Classic presented by Peoples Natural Gas.
Penn State announced the name in a release on the athletic website. The rivals will play for the first time since 2000 when the Nittany Lions visit the Panthers at Heinz Field on Sept. 10. Pitt will then travel to Penn State for the Sept. 9, 2017 game. The two will then play again in 2018 and 2019.

This year’s game will be on ABC or ESPN, with kickoff scheduled for noon. In a series that dates to 1893, Penn State leads the all-time series 50-42-4.
“We are appreciative of Peoples Natural Gas supporting the Keystone Classic,” Penn State athletic director Sandy Barbour said in the release. “We are looking forward to the next four years and the opportunity that it presents to our fans as we renew this series with a longtime opponent in Pitt. We are excited to see the blue and white-clad fans turn out at Heinz Field on September 10.”
