Penn State-Pitt game sets attendance record for sporting event in Pittsburgh
The rebirth of a historic rivalry will always bring out fans.
But Penn State and Pitt’s first meeting in 16 years set a Pittsburgh sports record for attendance with 69,983. Yes, more than any Steelers game ever.

Heinz Field, home of the Steelers, was filled with both Penn State and Pitt fans. Many Panther season tickets were bought up by Penn State fans, too.
Pitt leads 35-21 heading into the fourth quarter.
