Two of Penn State’s starting offensive linemen had their 2016 seasons cut short because of injuries. They confirmed to reporters Friday that they’ll both be back for their fifth years in 2017.
Tackle Andrew Nelson and guard Brendan Mahon told PennLive’s Greg Pickel that they both will return to Penn State in 2017. Both linemen were redshirt juniors in 2016.
Lots of news coming, but quick note: Brendan Mahon and Andrew Nelson will be returning to Penn State in 2017.

The return of Nelson and Mahon for their fifth seasons is not surprising, but it is a huge boost for the 2017 Penn State offense.
The Nittany Lions will have more depth on their offensive line in 2017 than any time since NCAA sanctions in 2012 damaged their roster and recruiting classes. That’s welcome news for running back Saquon Barkley and offensive coordinator Joe Moorhead.
