There’s a late entry for the best Big Ten mullet of the season.
Penn State offensive lineman Derek Dowrey showed off a hairstyle with plenty of party in the back as the Nittany Lions prepare for the Rose Bowl in Southern California. Coach James Franklin posted a picture of Dowrey’s hair, saying the senior is “KILLING the mullet game.”

The Big Ten has had a good string of mullets this season. Wisconsin’s Jon Dietzen showed off a flowing hairstyle in training camp. Badgers’ linebacker Vince Biegel had a mullet that inspired imitators, though it was cut off recently.
Dowrey is having a notable time in SoCal. On Wednesday night, he covered up his mullet with a chef’s hat and made the ceremonial first cut of prime rib at the 61st annual Lawry’s Beef Bowl.
He’s cutting prime rib, but it doesn’t seem like he’ll be cutting off his hair before the Granddaddy of Them All.
