College GameDay made some early Big Ten picks on its show from Washington on Saturday morning. And two of the analysts were picking an upset in the conference.
Both Lee Corso and Desmond Howard said Indiana — a seven-point underdog — would beat No. 10 Penn State at home (Noon ET, ESPN/ABC). Meanwhile, Kirk Herbstreit picked the Nittany Lions. He said he learned his lesson last week when Penn State drubbed Iowa, 41-14, and predicted that James Franklin’s team would finish the regular season 10-2.
The group also picked the Michigan State-Rutgers game. Like it is for a lot of people, the game between two teams that are winless in conference play flew a bit under the radar. The GameDay graphic showed that the game was at Rutgers, when, in fact, it will kick off at noon in East Lansing.
Without the proper venue, Howard and Corso still both picked the Spartans to pick up their first conference win and snap a seven-game losing streak. Herbstreit, meanwhile, thought the Scarlet Knights would pick up a win at “home.”
