5-star DE recruit Micah Parsons will start his Penn State career as a linebacker. The Nittany Lions’ top 2018 signee is at practice for the Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas, so he’s trying out his skills at a different position: quarterback.
Here Parsons is throwing a 20-yard pass to 5-star DB/WR Patrick Surtain Jr.:

Parsons is the top weak-side defensive end and the No. 4 overall prospect in the Class of 2018, according to 247Sports’ composite database. He committed to Penn State on Dec. 20 at a ceremony at his high school in Harrisburg, Pa.
Penn State returns senior Trace McSorley as its incumbent starting QB, with junior Tommy Stevens likely locked in as his backup. Parsons is, well, unlikely to factor in there. He could play right away at linebacker, though.
