For the first time ever, a concert is coming to Beaver Stadium.
Penn State announced that it will hold a concert at its 107,282-seat football stadium on July 8, 2017. The announcement was first made announced prior to the Ohio State game last Saturday, while the artist will be announced during the No. 24 Nittany Lions’ home game with Iowa on Nov. 5.

The wheels to get non-football events at Beaver Stadium have been in motion for a while, and Penn State voted to allow the sale of alcohol at the stadium earlier this year. Fans have also been clamoring for a Winter Classic NHL event to take place at Penn State. Michigan hosted a Red Wings-Maple Leafs game at the Big House in 2014.
It’s unclear what capacity Beaver Stadium would hold in a concert setting.
