Most Penn State fans probably don’t know Immanuel Iyke. But the redshirt freshman with a unique background will be the first player out of the tunnel when the Nittany Lions take the field against Iowa this Saturday.
Under the lights at Beaver Stadium on Saturday, Iyke will lead the team onto the field with an American flag on Military Appreciation Night. James Franklin told reporters those plans during his Tuesday news conference.

Iyke, 24, is listed as a 6-foot-2, 280-pound defensive tackle. He hails from Hackettstown, N.J., and played high school football for Parsippany Hills.
