Penn State coach James Franklin after Fiesta Bowl win
On the third-quarter touchdown:
“It was really, really important. Momentum started to swing there. The next drive we had a chance to score again and go up by 21, then we had the turnover. We moved the ball well all night long. I actually think if we didn’t turn the ball over it could have been a very different game. But they did a good job, ran to the ball, got hands up. I’m pretty proud we got our running game going against one of the better run defenses in the country.”
On the offensive line:
“Really good. Matt Limegrover, he’s a great coach, he’s an unbelievable father, he’s a better person. He kept working with those guys. The thing I love about Matt is he’s positive. There’s outside noise, there’s critics, he keeps coaching and working hard with them. They got better as the season went on.”
On the coaching staff (offensive coordinator Joe Moorhead left for Mississippi State head coaching job):
“I’m going to fight like hell to keep this staff together. We got a fantastic staff, coaches, off-the-field administrators, strength staff. We got great players that really get what college athletics is all about.”
