ESPN likes Penn State after the Nittany Lions blowout win over Georgia State.
Apanel of four ESPN reporters predicted what the College Football Playoff field would look like if the season ended after Week 3, and two of them picked Penn State. Edward Aschoff and Mark Schlabach both went with the Nittany Lions, and each ranked them No. 4. Alabama, Clemson and Oklahoma were constants in each poll, while Andrea Adelson and Adam Rittenberg both had Oklahoma State in instead of Penn State.
Penn State dispatched Georgia State 56-0 on Saturday, the Lions’ third blowout win of the season. They started the season with a 52-0 thrashing of Akron, and followed that up with a 33-14 win over Pitt. Penn State opens up Big Ten play in Week 4 at Iowa.
