Penn State coach James Franklin was back at work in his office Sunday morning, probably getting Purdue week work started.
But the Ohio State game was still fresh on the mind. Franklin joined SportsCenter’s Linda Cohen for a brief interview on Sunday.
Here’s what he had to say on ESPN2:
-What he was thinking about the blocked field goal play:
“Just that we had an opportunity. We’ve been preaching for three years about the importance of special teams and our guys just came up especially in the second half. We let some opportunities go in the first half, but to have a blocked punt and a blocked field goal late in the game was significant.
-On what the win means for him:
“This was an emotional week for me. I’m so proud of our kids. Penn State’s been through an awful lot over the last 5 years. This was significant for our community, for our players, for our assistant coaches — I couldn’t be more proud.”
