Penn State probably isn’t going to win the loaded Big Ten East in 2016. Offshore sports book 5Dimes lists it at 12-to-1 to win the division and 37-to-1 to win the conference.
But if the Nittany Lions replaced a doormat like Purdue in the West, they’d be the second betting choice at 3-to-1, Las Vegas oddsmaking consultant Tony Sinisi told PennLive.com’s Dave Jones.
Penn State would be the co-second choice with Nebraska, and Iowa would be the favorite at 8-to-5. Wisconsin would be the fourth choice at 7-to-2 in this hypothetical.
Right now, the Hawkeyes are about 3-to-2 to win the East, with the Huskers at just over 2-to-1.
While most books have Penn State well below 3o-to-1 to win the conference in 2016, that’s where Sinisi told Jones he’d put the Nittany Lions.
