It’s clear Penn State has one of the biggest home field advantages in college football.
The Nittany Lions are 6-0 at Happy Valley this season and notched a huge upset of Ohio State in their 107,282-seat stadium last month. Penn State fans love their home field, and it appears, so do a lot of people across college football.
Beaver Stadium was voted as the best stadium in college football in a USA Today fan poll. The Nittany Lions’ home garnered 41.26 percent of the vote and beat out competition from fellow gargantuan Big Ten stadiums.
Michigan Stadium ranked second with 11.49 percent of the vote and Ohio Stadium was third with 9.27 percent. Virginia Tech’s Lane Stadium and LSU’s Tiger Stadium rounded out the top five in the poll.
The Nittany Lions have averaged a home crowd of 100,730 during their six home games this season. Ohio State (106,817) and Michigan (110,493) have both averaged more in 2016.
