Report: Penn State basketball’s Nazeer Bostick charged with possession of marijuana
Penn State guard Nazeer Bostick was charged with possession of marijuana on Thursday, according to a report by the Centre Daily Times.
Jeff Nelson, an associate athletic director at Penn State, said Bostick will be suspended for the team’s second-round NIT game because of a violation of team rules.
The Nittany Lions, who won their first-round matchup against Temple on Wednesday, are scheduled to face No. 1 Notre Dame at noon ET Saturday.

According to the Centre Daily Times, “Officers responded to Nittany Apartments for an odor of marijuana and observed a marijuana cigarette on a window sill in the back of the apartment. The cigarette appeared to be freshly lit, according to police.”
It was also reported that a Ziploc bag was found on a window ledge in Bostick’s bedroom. Bostick said he had a guest in his room and that the guest must have left the items in the room, so Bostick moved the items to the window ledge.
The marijuana also tested positive for THC. Bostick has been charged with a misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana.
Bostick, a 6-foot-4 sophomore, is averaging 17.4 minutes per game this year compared with 6.7 a year ago. He averages 4.9 points and 2.3 rebounds per contest, while shooting 42 percent from the floor.
