As was evident Saturday night, no Big Ten team has given Ohio State as much trouble as Penn State in the last 16 years.
While the Buckeyes have been the Big Ten’s top program since the turn of the century, the Nittany Lions have beat them five times since 2001, as StateCollege.com’s Ben Jones pointed out.
Penn State has beaten Ohio State five times since 2001. That's more than any other B1G team. Michigan (2) Michigan State (3) Wisconsin (4)

Penn State’s five wins have come in 2001, 2005, 2008, 2011 and 2016 with the 2008 and 2011 games coming in Columbus. The five wins have come by just a combined 25 points and have been five of the Nittany Lions’ most memorable wins of the 2000’s.
Ohio State has gone 109-25 (.807 winning percentage) against Big Ten opponents since 2000, and 1/5th of those losses have come against Penn State.
