Micah Parsons will play in front of a Penn State crowd for the first time this weekend during the team’s Blue-White Game. Wearing No. 11 at linebacker, Parsons is sure to remind some Nittany Lions fans of one of the best to ever suit up at “Linebacker U.”
Parsons has already drawn comparisons to LaVar Arrington. Arrington can see why.
In a recent interview with PennLive, Arrington said Parsons, a 5-star recruit in Penn State’s 2018 class, is “almost like the closest thing to me coming out of high school.”
“I am one of the bigger linebackers. And what makes it more interesting, he can move,” Arrington told PennLive’s John Luciew. “Guys who can do what I was able to do and move the way I moved and play the way I played at my size – it’s a real rarity. You got a better chance of seeing a unicorn.”
Parsons is listed on Penn State’s spring roster at 6-foot-3, 241 pounds. Arrington, a two-time first-team All-American with Penn State and three-time Pro Bowler in the NFL, is also 6-foot-3 and was listed at 253 pounds during his NFL career.
Arrington has previously said that he thinks Parsons will be the best player to wear No. 11 at Penn State. Nittany Lions fans can start dreaming Saturday.
