Louisville QB Lamar Jackson may be the runaway favorite for the Heisman Trophy, but Penn State is hoping people don’t forget about Saquon Barkley.
Penn State’s Twitter account featured the running back standing at a dais with the Heisman Trophy on front. It also used the hashtag “#HeismanHouse” along with other Election Day-themed hashtags.
Barkley doesn’t have a good chance of winning it this year, but Penn State’s push in 2016 will help begin a campaign for 2017, especially if Barkley and Penn State have a strong finish for this season.

The team’s Twitter account isn’t alone in trying to help Barkley’s hopes, either. On Tuesday, DB Marcus Allen said Barkley should “of course” be in the Heisman discussion.
“You know I’m going to say he is,” Allen told reporters.

Barkley has 1,055 rushing yards and 11 TDs on the ground this season on only 167 carries (6.3 yards per attempt). Barkley, a Maxwell semifinalist, also has 257 receiving yards and 2 TDs for the 7-2 Nittany Lions.
Penn State coach James Franklin is also joining the movement.
