John Urschel is one of the most impressive people under 30 years old on the planet. And not just in football.
Forbes on Tuesday named Urschel to its “30 under 30” science list, which compiles the “brightest young entrepreneurs, breakout talents and change agents in 20 different sectors.” It’s filled with some of the sharpest minds in science in the country today.
Urschel, a 25-year-old Penn State alum and current Baltimore Ravens offensive lineman, is pursuing a Ph.D. in mathematics at MIT and got straight A’s in the 2016 spring semester. Six of his peer-reviewed papers have been published and he has another three under review.
He has made 13 starts and played in 40 games for the Ravens over the last three seasons. He was an All-Big Ten selection in 2012 and ’13 before being drafted by Baltimore in the fifth round in 2014.
