It’s never to early too start speculating on coaching changes.
On Wednesday, CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora took coaching discussions and heated them up a bit with a short story about Chip Kelly and other NFL coaches that could find their way back to the college ranks.
He named four schools that could be on the lookout, or in his words “putting feelers out,” for new coaches and included Penn State in that sentence.
La Canfora also mentioned Texas, Oregon and LSU.
In the article, the writer said people will hear a lot about Chip Kelly returning to the college ranks and then named Jon Gruden and Sean Payton as others who could return as well.
La Canfora then said the rumors will heat up soon with the Nittany Lions, Longhorns, Ducks and Tigers all “possibly” in the mix.
He also said if the Lions “falter,” — though it’s unclear what that exactly means — he expects them to reach out to Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line coach and “prominent alumnus” Mike Munchak, because La Canfora says, “seems like a good fit to me.”
The Lions take on Ohio State at at 8 p.m. on Saturday at home in their next game.
