Here’s what Penn State has to pay to buy out James Franklin
Penn State fans are calling for James Franklin’s head after his team got run over in the first half by Pitt.
Well, the school would have to pay to make Franklin go away after this season. A lot.

Franklin’s buyout is his yearly compensation — $4.2 million in 2016 — multiplied by the years remaining on his deal — 3. That’s $12.6 million. It would drop to $8.6 million after next year.
Here are the full details of Franklin’s contract.
Penn State paid Vanderbilt $1.5 million to hire Franklin, who is 15-12 (6-10 Big Ten) in two-plus years with the Nittany Lions.
The Houston Texans paid Penn State nearly $6 million to hire Bill O’Brien after the 2013 season.
