Current-San Francisco 49er, and former Nittany Lion, linebacker NaVorro Bowman had to be carted to the locker room during the 49ers game against the Dallas Cowboys with a non-contact injury.
Bowman, who has a history with knee injuries, collapsed grabbing his knee after dropping back into coverage on a pass play. The fear is he may have torn his achilles tendon.
The initial fear for #49ers LB NaVorro Bowman is that he tore his Achilles, a source said. He'll have an MRI tomorrow. Would be devastating.

Bowman’s absence is huge for San Francisco, as the 28-year-old linebacker led the team in tackles in 2015 with 116 after missing all of 2014 after tearing his ACL and MCL in the 2014 NFC Championship Game.
Last August, Bowman signed a four-year contract extension, worth a total of $77 million, through the 2022 season, however his history with knee injuries now looms more than ever following his latest injury.
