Fans entering Beaver Stadium for Saturday’s game between Penn State and Kent State should give themselves a few extra minutes getting into the stadium.
The school announced enhanced security measures Tuesday, including metal detection. That, of course, also applies to students entering through student gates.
In the release, Cory Chapman, Penn State Assistant AD and General Manager; Beaver Stadium and Pegula Ice Arena, had the following to say:
“The safety and well-being of our student-athletes and fans is of utmost importance to us. Providing security measures at Beaver Stadium is a topic we regularly discuss and review throughout the entire year. The plan we have in place will ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests in Beaver Stadium.”
The release also contained details on bathroom upgrades, guest service booths, and provided a reminder of the university’s bag policy.
