Penn State’s positioning in the College Football Playoff rankings continues to improve. So much so, in fact, that ESPN’s Joey Galloway thinks the eighth-ranked Nittany Lions can make the College Football Playoff if they win the Big Ten.
Speaking on ESPN after the committee’s newest rankings were released, Galloway said that if Penn State wins its remaining regular-season games and a conference title, he’d be “absolutely comfortable’ with the team making the playoff.
"Penn State sitting at No. 8, I am absolutely comfortable with Penn State getting into the playoff if it runs the table," Joey Galloway says https://t.co/knBXQSN9na

Joey Galloway says he would putt Penn State in over Louisville or Washington if Lions win Big Ten title.

It’s a far cry from September, when the Nittany Lions were sitting at 2-2 after a 49-10 loss at Michigan.
Penn State, Ohio State and Michigan are all tied atop the Big Ten East Division at 6-1 in the conference. The Nittany Lions need to win out and have Michigan lose again to secure the Big Ten East title. Penn State holds the tiebreaker over Ohio State thanks to its 24-21 win over the Buckeyes on Oct. 22.
The Nittany Lions would likely face Wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship Game.
