Joe Moorhead had a lot to be proud of Saturday afternoon.
Not only did he watch Penn State beautifully execute his game plan in a 38-14 drubbing of Maryland, but a former player of his ran for more than 350 yards.
Tailback Chase Edmunds rushed for an astounding 359 yards for Fordham, where Moorhead used to be the head coach. Edmunds broke his own Patriot League rushing record in the process.
Under Moorhead’s current watch, Saquon Barkley ran wild for 202 yards on 31 carries against the Terrapins. Moorhead is in his first season as Penn State’s offensive coordinator.
Combined, Edmunds and Barkley – both sophomores from Pennsylvania – totaled 561 yards on the ground. Moorhead took notice to both performances.
