Penn State wide receiver Chris Godwin had the game of his life in the Rose Bowl, catching nine passes for 187 yards and two touchdowns. It was only the second nine-catch game of his career and his first over 140 yards.
And he did it despite being terribly sick the night before.
Speaking Friday at the NFL Combine, Godwin revealed that he couldn’t stop throwing up leading up to the game and only got his stomach settled right before kickoff.
Penn State's Chris Godwin caught bug night before Rose Bowl. Didn't stop throwing up 'til right before. Then dropped two biscuits on Adoree.

So Chris Godwin, sick as could be the night before the Rose Bowl, put up 9-187-2 and made some spectacular catches to get there.

Though Penn State lost the Rose Bowl to USC, 52-49, Godwin’s performance was destined to down among the great efforts in Nittany Lions bowl game history… even before we learned he was violently sick.
