4-star DT Cam Spence, who verbally committed to Maryland in April, will visit State College on Oct. 1 for the Nittany Lions’ game against Minnesota.

The Washington, D.C., native is the No. 302 player in the class of 2017 and the No. 19 defensive tackle. He holds offers from nearly everyone — Ohio State, Michigan State, LSU, Tennessee, Florida State, Auburn, USC and Iowa, among others.
Maryland’s D.J. Durkin has assembled an excellent 2017 class so far. It ranks 21st nationally and fourth in the Big Ten, according to 247Sports. The Terps have pledges from five of the top 350 players in the country and 15 players overall.
Penn State’s class ranks 19th nationally and third in the Big Ten.
