Freiermuth is the No. 124 player in the class of 2018, the No. 7 tight end and the No. 1 player in Massachusetts.
He had offers from Duke, Maryland, Rutgers and Syracuse, among others.
Here are Freiermuth’s sophomore year highlights.
While it’s still early, Penn State has picked up pledges from one 5-star DE — Micah Persons, the No. 5 player in the nation — and three 4-stars in the class of 2018.
Its 2017 class ranks 19th in the country and No. 3 in the Big Ten.
