If any Ohio State students think they have the skills to be on the football team, Thursday is the day to show it.
The Buckeyes are inviting full-time students to 2017 walk-on tryouts at 6 p.m. Thursday. Tryouts will be held at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.
Full-time students must have a BuckID and be a full-time student at the main campus.
Ohio State walk-on tryout drills:
- 20-, 40-yard dash
- Cone drills
- Bag drills
- 225-pound bench press

The Buckeyes and Urban Meyer have a great recent history with walk-ons getting playing time. This past season, former walk-on Joe Burger was a team captain. Zach Turnure played on special teams and Craig Fada made 10 total tackles. Burger recorded 14 total tackles this season. Turnure had 1.

The Buckeyes went 11-2 this season, reaching the College Football Playoff for the second time in three years. Ohio State ranked No. 6 in the final AP Top 25 poll.
Ohio State is scheduled to begin the 2017 season at Indiana on Thursday, Aug. 31. The game was originally set for Saturday, Sept. 2. It’s only the third time in Buckeyes history the team will start a season on a Thursday.
