They’re both in the Top 5. It looks like many experts expect both Ohio State and Michigan to stay there.
USA Today shared its initial College Football Playoff projection based off a 13-person panel vote. Going by the results, the games would be No. 1 Alabama vs. No. 4 Michigan and No. 2 Ohio State vs. No. 3 Louisville.
Alabama received 10 first-place votes. Ohio State picked up two. Louisville grabbed the other.
This is yet another sign that the Big Ten could seriously get two teams in the CFP this season. Though Michigan State, Nebraska and Wisconsin are also undefeated and ranked, the Buckeyes and Wolverines are ranked higher in the polls and given a better chance.
The Big Ten will get two in if the other Power 5 leagues falter when it comes to putting forward contending teams. The Big 12, for example, has only two unbeaten teams left: Baylor and West Virginia.
