The ink is barely dry on the signatures from 2017’s National Signing Day, but already eyes are turning to the 2018 recruiting cycle.
And one of the top recruits in next year’s class is showing interest in three Big Ten schools.
Teradja Mitchell, the top-ranked inside linebacker in the 2018 class according to the 247Sports composite index, posted his top 11 schools on Wednesday night. The list looked similar to the top final rankings from the 2017 class, with a lot of major programs in the mix.
Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State were among them for Mitchell, who also listed Florida State, Georgia, USC, LSU, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Alabama and Florida. Mitchell made the announcement on his Twitter account, and his top 11 also helped him celebrate his birthday.

A 5-star recruit, Mitchell is tabbed as the 27th-best player in the 2018 class by 247Sports. He is from Virginia Beach, Va., and plays at Bishop Sullivan Catholic.
Penn State already has seven verbal commits in its 2018 class, while Ohio State and Michigan both have two.
