Sam Darnold played in what could be his final college game on Friday night. It did not go so well for the USC quarterback.
Darnold threw for 356 yards, but he had 3 turnovers in USC’s 24-7 loss to Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl. Darnold lost a pair of fumbles and also threw a pick-6 in the second quarter.
Now the redshirt sophomore has a decision to make. He could enter the NFL draft, where he likely would be a first-round pick. Darnold could end up going first overall.
If that happens, he could become the quarterback of an NFL team that many Ohio State fans root for: the Cleveland Browns. Darnold was given a preview of what that would look like on Friday night when a member of Ohio State’s marching band held up a homemade Darnold Browns jersey during the Cotton Bowl.

If Darnold’s NFL career goes like the Cotton Bowl did, it’s a safe bet Browns fans will hope their team picks a different quarterback.
