Chris Holtmann has reportedly already made an addition to his Ohio State basketball coaching staff.
Schrage spent one year at Butler, and before that, he was an assistant coach under Johnny Dawkins at Stanford from 2008 to 2016.
The newest Ohio State assistant coach also has worked under two legendary college basketball names. Schrage opted to be a student manager at Indiana rather than be a walk-on at Georgia Tech, per the Indianapolis Star. He helped out Bobby Knight in that role from 1994-98.
Schrage was also the recruiting coordinator and later the director of basketball operations at Duke from 1999 to 2008 under Mike Krzyzewski. Coach K played basketball with Schrage’s father at West Point.
Not bad credentials at all for Holtmann’s first hire.
