Ohio State went way, way back for inspiration for its 2016 alternate uniforms, something that has become an annual tradition in Columbus.
According to ElevenWarriors.com, the Buckeyes will honor legend Chic Harley and the 1916 team during its home game against Nebraska on Nov. 5.
Reports surfaced earlier this summer that the Buckeyes will pay tribute to three-time All-American Harley and the school’s first undefeated team. Harley and the 1916 squad — donning threads similar to the ones seen above — won Ohio State’s first conference championship.
The only question remaining was for which game the jerseys would be worn, a question ElevenWarriors.com appears to have answered. Based on the season tickets fans began receiving Saturday, it’s a pretty safe assumption.
The front of each ticket includes a theme for the weekend and the game. Printed on the Nebraska ticket are the words “1916 Tribute.”
