LSU fired longtime coach Les Miles on Sunday. What does that mean for the program’s future?
Well, it means Houston coach Tom Herman is probably going to start getting phone calls — from LSU and later many other places. The highly regarded Houston head coach and former Ohio State assistant is already on LSU’s radar, as Scout’s Billy Embody reported.

Herman is 17-1 as a head coach, leading Houston to a 13-1 record in 2015. This season, Herman and the Cougars are already in the Top 10 with a 4-0 start.
Herman was most recently at Ohio State, where he was the Buckeyes’ offensive coordinator for coach Urban Meyer. He was with Ohio State from the 2012 to 2014 seasons as the Buckeyes went 12-0 that first season and then won the first College Football Playoff during the 2014.
At Houston, Herman has helped the Cougars offense thrive with quarterback Greg Ward Jr. Houston beat Florida State 38-24 in the Peach Bowl to complete the 2015 season and finish ranked in the Top 10.
Now, it seems the Herman Watch has officially started. The way this season is going at Houston, Herman would probably have his pick when it comes to open jobs.
LSU takes lead in the Tom Herman sweepstakes.
Your move USC. Or Auburn. Or Texas.
