NFL free agent and Ohio State alum John Simon has a new team.
The former Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year reportedly agreed to a 3-year deal for $14 million with $6 million guaranteed, per Mike Garafalo of NFL Network, though there are conflicting reports of the deal’s exact worth.
LB John Simon's deal w/ IND is $14m over 3 yrs w/ $6m gtd. (Version on the books was $500k light.) Deal just wrapped up by @element_sports.

Simon was only the eighth two-time captain in Ohio State history during his time with the Buckeyes and stuffed the stats sheet his senior year, registering 9 sacks and 14.5 tackles for loss. His 20.5 career sacks and 43 career tackles for loss each rank seventh in Ohio State history.
That distinguished career led to Simon being selected in the fourth round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Ravens, but it wasn’t immediate success from there. Simon was waived just a year later after putting up only four tackles his rookie season, but he was picked up by the Texans.
With Houston, he eventually developed into a legitimate NFL linebacker and registered 68 tackles and 8.5 sacks over the last two seasons.
John Simon is a decent addition by the Colts. Has graded well vs. the run these last few years, improved rusher.
