STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – Ohio State suffered their first loss of the season on Saturday night, falling 24-21 to Penn State. The defeat is a crushing blow to the Buckeyes morale, but it doesn’t dash their playoff hopes entirely if they can manage to win out from here.
Penn State’s sellout crowd of 107, 280 was rocking from the start and despite a 12-7 halftime lead and a 21-7 lead at the start of the fourth quarter, the Buckeyes special teams collapsed and the Nittany Lions roared back for the upset.
