In the latest development of the endless college football media buffet in Columbus, the voice of the SEC will now be available to Ohio State fans over the air.
That’s right, Paul Finebaum now has a local syndicate right in the heart of Buckeyes country. Finebaum will air on 1460 AM in Columbus on Monday.
Ohio State writer Doug Lesmerises from cleveland.com spoke with Finebaum about Ohio State, and he wasted no time riling up its fans.
“I think Ohio State fans and Alabama fans are almost interchangeable,” Finebaum said. “They both have great tradition, they both have the biggest and best of everything and they both have the two best coaches in college football.
“I think I understand (Ohio State fans),” he went on to say.
It’s a great move by Finebaum, whose interactions with callers have become must-see TV for college football fans.
Now that he’s easily accessible in Columbus, one wonders; is there a scarlet-and-gray-clad Phyllis just waiting to pick up that phone?
