COLUMBUS, Ohio — With the 2017 NFL Draft in the books, there’s still time for Ohio State’s undrafted prospects to find their NFL home.
In recent years, Ohio State products like Andrew Norwell, Philly Brown, Jalin Marshall and Tyvis Powell have all gone from undrafted to NFL contributors. Ohio State had — by its standards — a smaller than usual group of draft prospects because of a small senior class. The Buckeyes also returned a number of underclassmen who could have declared for the NFL draft, including three defensive ends.
In all, seven Buckeyes came off the board during the 2017 NFL Draft. Three defensive backs were chosen in the first round. Cornerback Marshon Lattimore went to the New Orleans Saints at No. 11, safety Malik Hooker went to the Indianapolis Colts at No. 15 and cornerback Gareon Conley was selected by the Oakland Raiders at No. 24.
Wide receiver Curtis Samuel was chosen by the Carolina Panthers in the second round, and he was soon followd by linebacker Raekwon McMillan (Miami Dolphins). Offensive lineman Pat Eflein was chosen by the Minnesota Vikings in the third round, and wide receiver Noah Brown closed things out when his name was called by the Dallas Cowboys midway through the seventh and final round.
However, a handful of Ohio State prospects who declared for the draft were left to sign contracts as undrafted free agents. Here’s a running list of where they’ve ended up.
