Ohio State football: Twitter fights continue, Kevin Wilson takes blame for offense
Ohio State football is the No. 1 topic in Wake Up Sloopy every day — but we cover news, notes and analysis from across Buckeyes sports. Join us each morning to get caught up on everything you missed in the world of Ohio State football, recruiting, basketball and more.
Angsty times in the Twitterverse
Maybe everyone in or around the Ohio State program needs to step away from the keyboard. Ever since Saturday when Micah Parsons called for Dwayne Haskins to start at quarterback, Twitter has been a war zone of opinions.
On Wednesday, 5-star offensive tackle Jackson Carman traded barbs with Kirk Herbstreit. Stay tuned for the Thursday episode of As The ‘Shoe Turns.
Kevin Wilson blames himself
Coach Urban Meyer is the one common link in questionable play calling in recent years — given that those issues span three offensive coordinators — but Kevin Wilson is taking the blame for the struggles against Oklahoma.
“The anticipation of what you’re doing, being sound at what you’re doing, I said it immediately after the game, I think I’ve got to do a better job through practice organization and game calling to put our kids is better places,” Wilson said Wednesday. “I was awful Saturday.”
Joe Burrow back
As if the quarterback situation needed any more speculation, it seems as though backup Joe Burrow could be ready to go against Army.
Meyer described Burrow as “probable” for the game. He’s been recovering from surgery on a broken hand that was injured in fall camp.
