Ohio State to honor Sam Foltz with 27-sticker helmet presentation
We already knew that Ohio State had extensive plans to honor deceased Nebraska punter Sam Foltz before and during Saturday’s game, but the team also said it had one surprise left. That surprise was revealed Friday morning.
ESPN’s Jeannine Edwards is reporting that Ohio State punter Cameron Johnston will present a Buckeye helmet with 27 stickers to Foltz’s family on Saturday. Foltz wore No. 27.

The helmet presentation will be in addition to a special plaque outside the visitors’ locker room and the Ohio State band spelling out Foltz’s initials during a performance.
This is just the latest entry in a heartening series of tributes that Nebraska’s opponents have displayed this season. Flowers, helmet decals, jerseys, and so much more have shown just how much teams are sympathizing with a program that has lost a beloved player.
Foltz and Michigan State punter Mike Sadler were killed in a one-car accident last summer in Wisconsin while returning from a kicking camp.
