Former Ohio State coach Thad Matta could be back on the sidelines soon.
According to ESPN’s Jeff Goodman, Matta is interested in a return to coaching. He reportedly met with Ole Miss officials regarding its open head coaching position Friday.

After 13 seasons at Ohio State, Matta and the Buckeyes mutually parted ways in June of 2016. He led the program to a 337-123 record, five Big Ten regular season titles and nine trips to the NCAA Tournament.
His recent coaching interest could also be linked to his improved health. After dealing with health issues for much of his Ohio State career, Matta is reportedly in “much better shape physically.”
That could lead to Matta landing the job at Ole Miss, which recently parted ways with coach Andy Kennedy.
