On the same day Chris Holtmann left Butler to become Ohio State’s new head basketball coach, Thad Matta ended up on Holtmann’s old campus.
But he’s not there for basketball reasons.
Matta was at Butler with his family, visiting as his daughter Ali decides where she’ll attend college. This trip just happened to come at a particularly ironic time.

Matta was fired as Ohio State’s head coach on Monday after 13 years with the program, so he has free time he probably wouldn’t have most offseasons.
