It’s still very early in the 2018 recruiting cycle, but Ohio State has seemingly lost out on 5-star OLB Palaie Gaoteote. The No. 1-rated player at his position per 247Sports verbally committed to USC on Sunday.

247Sports, which also ranks Gaoteote the No. 14 prospect in the country, has their crystal ball predictor at 75 percent for the Buckeyes.
The Las Vegas Bishop Gorman High product, at 6-foot-2, 230 pounds, also has offers from Notre Dame, Washington, Alabama and Auburn, among many others.
Gaoteote told Landof10 earlier in February that he was getting comfortable with new Buckeye linebackers coach Billy Davis.
