COLUMBUS, Ohio — It’s finally National Signing Day and Ohio State is set to sign a historic 2017 recruiting class. Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes currently lay claim to a school-record five 5-star prospects and the highest composite average of any class in 247Sports history.
Below is a list of each Ohio State commit in its 2017 class, including their positional ranking, star rating, hometown and more. Meyer and the Buckeyes are now awaiting an answer from at least one possible additional prospect for the class.
Some prospects, such as Jeffrey Okudah, Baron Browning, Shaun Wade and Tate Martell, are already enrolled at Ohio State. But on Wednesday, one of the best — if not the best — classes in program history will make it official.

Ohio State’s National Signing Day storylines, preview
On paper, this is clearly one of the most impressive recruiting classes in Ohio State history. But with high expectations that predate even National Signing Day, will the Buckeyes’ 2017 class be able to live up to the hype?
Ohio State’s incoming freshmen will be expected to contribute early and often in 2017. That rings especially true in the secondary, where the Buckeyes are replacing a trio of potential first-round picks in Malik Hooker, Marshon Lattimore and Gareon Conley.
Elsewhere, Young could see immediate playing time as a situational pass-rusher, and Dobbins possesses the potential to push Mike Weber for carries in the backfield. And don’t count out Grimes, who is one of the most physically dominant receivers Ohio State has signed in recent memory.
But regardless of the position, there are plenty of eyes already on the Buckeyes’ 2017 class.
Can Ohio State really land Marvin Wilson?
For as impressive as Meyer has been on the recruiting trail since arriving at Ohio State, one position in particular has eluded the sixth-year Buckeyes head coach. In each of his first five recruiting classes in Columbus, Meyer has failed to land a top-level defensive tackle.
Wilson would change that.
The nation’s sixth-ranked prospect, the 6-foot-4, 329-pound Wilson isn’t just one of the top players at his position, but one of the best in the country. He could also find immediate playing time on an Ohio State defensive line that, while deep at end, is short on elite talent up the middle.
Heading into signing day, LSU seemed to be the favorite in the race for Wilson’s services. But with two blue-chip recruits from Texas in Okudah and Browning in the fold, don’t count the Buckeyes out just yet.
I think we get one more Buckeye out of the Lone Star State #Shhhh ?️

Will the Buckeyes add a true offensive tackle?
Although 247Sports lists Myers as an offensive tackle, the 4-star prospect projects as a guard at the college level. That means, between Myers and Davis, the Buckeyes currently are without a true offensive tackle in their 2017 class.
Enter Munford, who recently received a scholarship offer from Ohio State and is considered a heavy Buckeyes lean. And with Jamarco Jones entering his senior season, and Isaiah Prince and Malcolm Pridgeon not far behind as juniors, depth at tackle remains one of Ohio State’s top needs.
Will Munford stay home and commit to the Buckeyes as expected? We’ll find out at 1 p.m. ET.
